A Hunter's Pledge

Responsible hunting provides unique challenges and rewards. However, the future of the sport depends greatly on each hunter's behavior and ethics. Therefore, as a hunter, you should freely pledge to:

Respect the environment and wildlife.
Respect the property and landowners.
Show consideration for non-hunters.
Always hunt safely.
Know and obey all local laws.
Actively support wildlife and habitat conservation.
Pass on the spirit of ethical hunting tradition to others.
Strive to improve my own outdoor skills and understanding of wildlife.
Hunt only with ethical hunters.

By following these principles of ethical, safe and rational conduct each time you go afield, it will allow you to demonstrate your best to the sport, to the public, to the environment and to yourself. The responsibility to ethically hunt is yours and by this the future of hunting depends on YOU.
